Universidad Juárez de Durango, through the Escuela de Lenguas
invites all English language professionals to the English Teaching Conference
to be held on March 13, 14 and 15 on Durango, Dgo. Mexico.

Purpose

Create awareness about the importance of the professional development of teachers by offering them the opportunity to share thoughts and teaching experiences with colleagues in a respectful academic environment that will enhance the quality of English teaching in our society.

Dr. Pat Grounds has had a long professional career in the area of Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Her talk will provide an overview of some principle developments in Language Analysis and Second Language Analysis theory and practice, over recent decades.

José Luis Ramírez Romero

José Luis has a Ed.D. in Education from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and a B.A in Education from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon. He is a researcher and professor at the Foreign Language Department of the University of Sonora and has worked as faculty developer, curriculum consultant, guest professor or speaker in several universities.

María Luisa Castanedo

María Luisa has been involved in language teaching, teacher training and testing for over 16 years.

In her talk we will revise practical advice to help candidates be fully prepared to achieve the best results in internationally recognized exams.

Luis Eduardo Aisenberg

Luis has a professional experience of more than 15 years in Teacher Training, and almost 2 decades as CPE Trainer, GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL IBT, Exam Trainer, Business ESP Advisor and Consultant for several clients in México and LATAM.

He has more than 10 years of experience as simultaneous interpreter and has been working with online / blended learning, both as teacher and advisor for more than 7 years.

Della Bishop

Della currently works in the American School of Durango, in the ELL Department.

Her talk will focus on writing portfolios.

Location

The English Teaching Conference will be held at the Centro Convenciones Bicentenario (Ex-internado Juana Villalobos), a beautiful building of the late Mexican neoclassical architecture.

Built in the late nineteenth century, and originally designed to celebrate the centennial of Mexican independence, this building has been provided with modern facilities and beautiful gardens which makes it an ideal venue for our conference.
